EASTERN SIERRA ADOPT-A-TRAIL

Ensuring our local trails, lakes and trailheads remain well-kept, safe and enjoyable, this program provides an opportunity to support our recreational resources through a financial sponsorship or volunteer stewardship.

Volunteers with the Eastern Sierra Adopt-A-Trail program must sign-up before our annual training on May 9.

TANGLE FREE WATERS

Tangle Free Waters is a program designed to reduce and remove monofilament fishing line from Eastern Sierra waterways and keep it out of landfills by means of recycling. Your contribution to this effort, either as an adopter or volunteer, is vital for sustaining our unique landscape now and for future generations.

Volunteers with the Tangle Free Waters program must sign-up before our annual training on May 9.

SHERWINS AREA TRAILS + TRAILHEADS

In December 2022, Mammoth Lakes Recreation was awarded two grants from Sierra Nevada Conservancy totaling $1,460,000 to fund this multi-faceted project to make major updates to the Sherwin Meadows Trailhead and trails.

MEASURE R + U GRANTS

MLR is the recommending body to the Town of Mammoth Lakes for the expenditure of Special Tax Measures R & U. A large part of the recommendation is for the funds to be used as grants for projects and programs that support recreation, arts and culture.
